Alpiq and IKEA extend their solar partnership

Published 20 April 2017

Helion Solar, an Alpiq Group company, and IKEA Switzerland are expanding their solar partnership. With immediate effect, Helion Solar is also responsible for the planning, sales and installation of Varta batteries, SolarEdge inverters and, as of June, of roof-integrated solar systems.

This collaboration is in line with Alpiq’s strategy of further increasing its market presence in the field of energy services.

Since May 2016, Helion Solar, an Alpiq Group company, has been the partner of IKEA Switzerland for the planning, sales and assembly of inexpensive, professionally installed turnkey solar systems for residential houses and small and medium enterprises.

Helion Solar is the new solar partner for power storage, inverters and roof-integrated solar systems

The electricity storage batteries from Varta enable the solar electricity that is generated during the day to be used in the evening. The innovative inverter solution from SolarEdge increase the efficiency of the photovoltaic systems when the modules are partly in the shade. Moreover, as of June 2017, IKEA will expand its product portfolio with roof-integrated systems.

The expanded range of solar solutions enables end customers to efficiently and economically generate electricity and to flexibly use renewable energy, and underlines the increasing significance of integrated, innovative concepts for smart homes. With the expansion of the cooperation with IKEA, Alpiq is pursuing the strategy of further expanding its market presence in the field of energy services.

Helion Solar is market leader for photovoltaic and energy storage systems

Helion Solar, which is part of the Alpiq Group, can position itself as the Swiss market leader for the planning, implementation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems and energy storage systems. Alpiq’s goal is to use the partnership to heighten the awareness of an even wider customer base for solar energy and to support households with their entry into the world of clean and simple energy generation. In addition, by using intelligent control technology to link the solar system, house battery and charging station for e-cars, the Swiss market leader can offer its customers a complete energy efficiency package from a single source.
