Solon to build 10MW solar PV facility in Arizona

EBR Staff Writer Published 27 October 2011

Solon Corporation will build a 10MW solar photovoltaic (PV) array near Kingman in the US state of Arizona.

Electricity generated by the project will be purchased by UniSource Energy Services (UES) under a 20-year agreement.

Solon will finance, design, construct and maintain the power project, which will be located on about 60 acres of land near UES' Black Mountain Generating Station that lies within the Mohave County Energy Overlay-Solar Photovoltaic Zone.

The solar system will include 60 units of Solon's single-axis tracker, utilizing more than 40,000 utility solar modules.

The power project is expected to commence operations in the first half of 2012.
